Draw Live Gets Fill, Custom Colors, Saved Drafts and More
Meet the improved Draw Live workspace: smoother strokes, a fill bucket, custom colors, redo, full-screen drawing and a way to return to your sketch after a transformation.

Draw Live has a refreshed workspace with more ways to color, more room to draw and easier ways to change your mind. Sketch with a mouse, finger or pen, then turn your drawing into a 3D-style character image when you are ready. You can now start drawing before signing in, so your first step can simply be making a mark.
More color, with less brushing back and forth
The new fill bucket colors a connected area with a tap or click. Use it for a large body, a background or another enclosed shape, then switch back to the brush for smaller details. Close the outline first if you want the color to stay inside it.
- Choose from 12 palette colors, or use the custom color picker for another shade.
- Pick one of four brush sizes for broad shapes or smaller details.
- Use the brush or eraser with a size preview under your pointer.
- Draw with smoother strokes as you move across the canvas.
Undo, redo and even undo a cleared canvas
Undo now has a matching Redo button, so you can step back and then bring an action back if you prefer it. Clearing the canvas is also an action you can undo. An accidental tap on Clear no longer has to mean starting your drawing again.
Keyboard shortcuts keep the tools close: B selects the brush, E the eraser and F the fill bucket. The square bracket keys change brush size. Use Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo, or the corresponding Command shortcuts on a Mac. The on-screen buttons are there for touch drawing too.
Give your drawing more room
Choose Full screen to expand the drawing workspace, then select Done or press Escape to return to the page. On larger screens, the tools sit beside the canvas. On phones, the Transform action stays within reach at the bottom once you have started drawing.
If a blank canvas leaves you wondering what to draw, tap one of the drawing ideas or choose Surprise me. Your selected idea appears on the empty canvas as a prompt. You still draw the picture yourself, and you can take the idea in any direction you like.
Come back to an unfinished sketch
Draw Live saves an unfinished draft in your browser on this device. That helps you return after a refresh or keep a sketch while signing up. Draft recovery depends on browser storage being available; it does not sync an unfinished drawing between devices.
You can draw before creating an account. Sign in when you want to transform your sketch: each transformation uses one credit, while saving the original drawing is free. When you submit a transformation, Draw Live also saves the original to your Gallery. The local draft is cleared after a successful result, so a fresh visit can begin with a blank canvas.
Edit the original after seeing the result
The result screen now includes Edit drawing as well as New drawing. Choose Edit drawing to return to the original sketch in the current session, add a detail or change a color, and try another transformation. Each new transformation uses another credit. Choose New drawing when you want to begin a separate picture.
Try a simple character with a closed outline, fill its body with one color and add a few brush details. Transform it, then return to the sketch and give it a hat or a different expression. The result is a downloadable 3D-style image, ready to print or share.
Ready to try the new tools? Open Draw Live. For a paper activity afterward, our new Name Coloring Page Generator can make a free printable name sign to go alongside your character. Read the name generator introduction for styles and activity ideas.
