Questions, answered
Printing tips live in our guide on printing at home without wasting paper.
Which names work?
Any name written with the letters A to Z, plus numbers and a few marks: - ' ! ? and the full stop. Umlauts and accents such as Ä, Ö, Ü, É and Å are drawn too; other characters are left out, and the tool tells you when that happens.
How long can the name be?
Up to 24 letters. Two or three words, like a first and last name or "Happy Birthday Mia", wrap onto separate lines by themselves so the letters stay as big as possible.
Which letter style is best for small children?
Chunky or Bubble. Both leave wide spaces inside the letters that are easy to fill with crayons. Classic letters are slimmer and suit felt-tip pens and older children who like detail.
Can I make a page for every child in a class?
Yes. Type a name, download, then change the name and download again. Each PDF is named after the name on it, so a stack of downloads stays easy to sort.
Is the name sent anywhere?
No. The page is drawn in your browser and the PDF is made on your device, so the name never leaves it. There is nothing to sign up for.
