Nice things to put in a book

A coloring book makes a lovely present, and it is a good excuse to finally do something with the drawings piling up on the fridge.

A year of their own drawings

Scan or photograph the best pieces and bind them as a keepsake for grandparents.

A holiday activity pack

Twenty pages for the car, the plane or a long afternoon at the in-laws.

A birthday party favour

One small book per guest, with the birthday child on the cover.

A classroom set

Same pages, one file, printed once for the whole group.

A theme they love right now

Pull a stack from the free library while the obsession lasts.

Your own photos as line art

Turn family pictures into coloring pages first, then collect them into a book.

Need pages first?

Make the pages, then make the book

Turn a family photo, a pet or a child's own drawing into line art, then bring the results back here and bind them together.

Questions about the book maker

Still stuck? Have a look at our guide on printing coloring pages at home.

Is the coloring book maker really free?

Yes. There is no account, no credit and no watermark. You can build as many books as you like, with up to 30 pages each.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is assembled by your own browser. Your pictures stay on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else.

What size should my images be?

Anything from about 1000 pixels on the long edge upwards prints nicely. Each image is scaled to fit the page without cropping, so portrait pictures suit portrait pages best.

Which paper sizes can I choose?

A4 and US Letter, in portrait or landscape. You can also let each page follow the shape of its own image.

Can I print the book double-sided?

Yes, though for coloring we suggest single-sided printing. Markers bleed through ordinary copy paper and would spoil the page behind. If you do print double-sided, choose the wide margin so the staples do not cut into the artwork.

Can I sell a book I make here?

That depends on your images. Anything you drew or photographed yourself is yours. Sheets from our free library are for personal, non-commercial use, so please do not put those up for sale.
