Coloring.at Is Now Powered by OpenAI GPT Image 2.5 (Flare)
We upgraded every tool on Coloring.at to OpenAI’s new GPT Image 2.5 model family — specifically gpt-image-2.5-flare. Here is what changed and what it means for your coloring pages and 3D characters.
OpenAI released GPT Image 2.5 on September 8, 2026, and we have already switched the whole Coloring.at pipeline over to it. Every tool on the site — the photo-to-coloring-page converter, drawing-to-character, Draw Live, and the colorizer — now runs on gpt-image-2.5-flare, the speed-focused model in the new GPT Image 2.5 family.
What is GPT Image 2.5?
GPT Image 2.5 is OpenAI’s latest image generation and editing model family, succeeding GPT Image 2. It ships in two variants through the OpenAI API:
- gpt-image-2.5-flare — the fast variant, built for quick drafts and latency-sensitive workflows.
- gpt-image-2.5-sunburst — the higher-quality variant, built for precise image editing and detailed final assets.
Both models accept text and image inputs and support an extended quality ladder — low, medium, high, plus the new xhigh and max settings — along with larger output sizes up to 4K total pixels.
